Experienced Critical Power Field Technician – UPS Field Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on UPS systems, battery plants, DC power systems, PDUs, STS units, inverters, and other critical power equipment.

• Identify electrical and control system issues utilizing schematics, testing equipment, manufacturer documentation, and industry best practices.

• Install, commission, and replace UPS systems, battery strings, battery monitoring systems, maintenance bypass equipment, and related power infrastructure.

• Address emergency service calls and restore customer systems to operational condition while upholding the highest safety and quality standards.

• Accurately and professionally complete service reports, maintenance documentation, and customer communications.

• Build strong customer rapport through technical knowledge, responsiveness, and outstanding service delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3+ years of practical experience in servicing UPS systems, battery systems, DC power equipment, generators, switchgear, data center infrastructure, or other mission-critical electrical systems.

• Comprehensive understanding of AC and DC electrical theory, power distribution systems, and battery technologies.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

• Experience with multimeters, power quality analyzers, battery testing equipment, and various diagnostic tools.

• Proven ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve intricate electrical and electronic system malfunctions.

• Valid driver's license and readiness to travel within the designated service area, including occasional overnight trips as needed.
