Executive Director – Innovation & Transformation

📋 Description

• Accountable for enhancing the modernization and transformation of clinical operations within Amgen’s global development portfolio.

• Fosters strategic innovation by embracing emerging technologies, AI-enhanced capabilities, process optimization, and operational transformation initiatives that elevate the quality, speed, efficiency, and scalability of clinical trial execution.

• Acts as the implementation lead for the ACT FAST transformation initiative, delivering enterprise program management and operational leadership throughout the Global Development Organization (GDO).

• Orchestrates strategic initiatives, facilitating the execution of transformation priorities, modernizing clinical trial processes, and promoting scalable, data-driven operational capabilities within the clinical development ecosystem.

• Offers program management and operational oversight for the implementation of the GDO Strategic Business Plan, ensuring that initiatives are prioritized, coordinated, tracked, and aligned with organizational objectives and transformation goals.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctorate and 6+ years of clinical execution experience OR Master’s degree with 10+ years of clinical execution experience OR Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of clinical execution experience AND 6 years of managerial experience directly supervising people and/or leadership experience in leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation of resources.

• Over 15 years of experience in clinical development, clinical operations, operational excellence, business transformation, program management, or related roles within the biopharmaceutical sector.

• Proven track record in steering large-scale enterprise transformation initiatives, including operating model redesign, process modernization, organizational change management, and business capability enhancement.

• Experience in implementing and scaling AI-enabled solutions, automation technologies, advanced analytics, and digital capabilities within clinical development or other regulated settings.

• Demonstrated ability to establish and manage Program Management Offices (PMOs) that support complex, cross-functional strategic initiatives and portfolio execution.

• Profound expertise in clinical operations, understanding of industry trends, and strong project management capabilities.

• Familiarity with AI, digital health, and informatics tools that can enhance workflows within the clinical trial ecosystem.
