This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium.
• Lead a forward-thinking strategic communications program dedicated to fostering significant advancements in gender equality.
• Establish Flamma’s strategic framework, including priorities, purpose, and objectives.
• Examine political, cultural, and media landscapes to pinpoint leverage points, risks, and opportunities.
• Create enduring communications strategies that influence the understanding and actions regarding gender equality issues.
• Identify and counteract damaging or retrogressive narratives through strategic communication efforts.
• Direct the development and implementation of Flamma’s strategic vision and operational streams.
• Guide the organization’s expansion into new countries and regions.
• Align Flamma’s goals with the overarching objectives of the Meliore Foundation.
• Represent Flamma to key stakeholders within media, philanthropy, advocacy, and cultural sectors.
• Forge strategic partnerships and act as a thought leader for gender equality advocates.
• Cultivate strong relationships and positioning with Meliore and its initiatives.
• Recruit and nurture a high-performing team.
• Oversee operations, milestones, strategic objectives, deliverables, and budget management.
• Promote collective accountability for network strategy and establish scalable organizational processes.
• Ensure the wellbeing of program staff.
• Supervise the creation of a monitoring, evaluation, and learning framework.
• Ensure thorough monitoring and evaluation while adjusting strategies as necessary.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and legal standards.
• Mobilize philanthropic resources and spearhead fundraising efforts.
• Build multi-year funding relationships at a foundation-wide level.
• Manage program financial accountability and oversight.
• Collaborate with development teams and philanthropic partners to secure resources, co-design initiatives, and communicate impact.
• Ensure the program’s financial viability and preparedness for scaling.
• Empathetic leadership skills, combined with an entrepreneurial mindset and a collaborative work approach, adept at navigating uncertainty with creativity and purpose.
• Strong political acumen in complex, fast-evolving environments, evaluating risks, opportunities, and potential backlash across diverse geographic contexts to further social or gender justice goals.
• At least 15 years of leadership experience in strategic communications, campaigns, or movement-building, ideally in the realm of gender justice.
• Proven success in leading teams and managing intricate, cross-sector initiatives.
• Strong skills in strategic communications and political framing, with the capacity to translate complex social dynamics into compelling narratives and influence-driven interventions.
• Extensive experience in partnership development, stakeholder engagement, and funder relations, with excellent networking and relationship-building abilities.
• Significant experience in fundraising, with a proven history of mobilizing philanthropic resources.
• Proven management experience, including strategy formulation, operational planning, and budget oversight.
• Exceptional English language proficiency, with a history of producing engaging and impactful communication materials; additional languages are a bonus.
• Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment across multiple time zones, utilizing tools such as Slack and Google Workspace.
