Executive Director, Business Development – Patient HUB Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Accountable for formulating long-term strategic plans focused on fostering and sustaining business growth within the designated territory.

• Oversee business development efforts to meet sales and new business objectives by identifying contract awards, including managing the proposal process.

• Build and nurture relationships with senior-level stakeholders within customer organizations and at UBC.

• Seek out Reimbursement Hubs, Nurse Call Centers, Site of Care solutions, and a variety of technology-enabled services.

• Pursue specialty products anticipated to receive approval in the assigned territory.

• Onboard clients and accurately document interactions throughout the sales process using UBC Salesforce.com.

• Collaborate with internal teams in operations, implementation, pricing, proposals, product development, and beyond.

• Implement your own sales action plan.

• Conduct research to identify potential clients, foster relationships, and deliver presentations and strategic analyses.

• Provide strategic leadership and secure approval for the sales plan and budget in the assigned territory.

• Continuously evaluate the competitive landscape to identify potential opportunities and trends.

• Manage RFI/RFP processes and conduct Bid Defense meetings.

• Work in partnership with internal departments to identify and implement business development opportunities for service expansion.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field (preferred).

• Over 15 years of progressively responsible experience in pharmaceutical and service industries.

• More than 10 years of business development management experience or an equivalent mix of education, training, and experience.

• Strong foundation and comprehension of sales, coupled with the ability to prospect and build a pipeline.

• Knowledge of the pharmaceutical and biotech industry requirements.

• Experience in patient access, patient services, managed markets, market access, and procurement/distribution for Trade/Specialty Pharmacy.

• Familiarity with commercialization/drug launch, principles of drug development, and understanding of legislation/policy related to drug pricing and reimbursement.

• Clear understanding of channel areas/services, including managed care, trade development, reimbursement (Pharmacy, Medical, etc.), Nursing/Call Centers, and Pharmacy Solutions Hub Services.

• Experience with specialty and high-value therapeutics.

• Knowledge of payer/insurance principles and mindset.

• Strategic business and industry awareness, with the ability to interpret emerging industry trends that influence growth.

• Established network and relationships within the target customer base, including biopharma and consulting firms.

• Strong analytical skills and experience in assessing and managing a sales territory.

• Demonstrated experience in conducting and negotiating deals.

• Exceptional presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.

• Proven track record in sales management with above-market growth performance.

• Ability to cultivate and sustain effective working relationships with colleagues, managers, and clients.

• History of successfully delivering on commitments and maximizing financial returns for growth businesses through strategic vision and operational plan execution in the assigned region.

• Capacity to identify how shifts in competitors, clients, and market segments will impact UBC's position and growth potential in the market.
