Executive Director, Assistant General Counsel, Intellectual Property

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Create and execute comprehensive global intellectual property strategies for products and product candidates.

• Oversee team members tasked with the daily management and safeguarding of intellectual property assets.

• Provide guidance to internal clients regarding intellectual property risks and opportunities.

• Conduct analyses for freedom-to-operate, infringement, validity, and risk assessment.

• Inform and counsel senior management on critical intellectual property matters.

⛳️ Requirements

• Fully qualified US or European Patent Attorney with over 12 years of relevant intellectual property experience in the biopharmaceutical sector.

• Bachelor’s degree in biological science, biochemistry, chemistry, or another discipline pertinent to pharmaceuticals, life sciences, or biotechnology; an advanced degree is preferred.

• Proven experience in managing intellectual property practitioners and staff.

• Extensive experience in intellectual property due diligence, as well as licensing and collaboration agreements.

• Experience in adversarial and administrative proceedings is advantageous.

• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
