This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage incoming calls as needed, facilitating communication between Ewe and English speakers.
• Provide verbal interpretation across various sectors including healthcare, government, insurance, finance, utilities, travel and hospitality, general business, law enforcement, court, and emergency services.
• Quickly and accurately process information while being aware of cultural sensitivities.
• Utilize appropriate terminology and have a solid understanding of industry-standard procedures and practices.
• Respond to interpreting assignments promptly in a courteous and professional manner.
• Accurately convey concepts and meanings in line with established interpretation protocols, ensuring no omissions or additions.
• Communicate clearly in both languages, using correct pronunciation, enunciation, and polite language.
• Exhibit a professional attitude and remain composed during sensitive or emergency situations.
• Ensure punctuality and availability during designated work hours.
• Adhere to client guidelines and interpretation protocols.
• Show cultural sensitivity and thrive in a diverse work environment.
• Proficient in Ewe and English, with an understanding of related cultural dynamics.
• Ability to deliver cultural competency and recognize regional and accent variations.
• Strong listening, retention, and note-taking abilities.
• Capacity to maintain neutrality, objectivity, detachment, and focus during sensitive calls.
• Flexibility to adapt to enhancements in LanguageLine Solutions technology.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Legally permitted to work in the United States.
• US work authorization must not currently or in the future necessitate visa sponsorship.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Proficiency in reading and writing the desired languages is highly preferred.
• Possession of a dedicated personal device for business use.
• Desktop or laptop computer with Windows, MacOS, or ChromeOS, or an acceptable tablet or smartphone.
• No Kaspersky products or Huawei hardware allowed.
• High-speed internet with a minimum of 5 Mbps download, 3 Mbps upload, a ping no greater than 300 ms, and jitter no more than 30 ms.
• Access to a quiet area free from background noise or distractions.
• Capability to operate a keyboard and mouse, remaining stationary at a computer for most of the workday.
• Ability to utilize company-provided software and systems.
• Adequate manual dexterity for typing or writing tasks.
• Capability to lift up to 26 lbs.
• A post-offer, pre-employment background check and/or drug screening may be required based on location.
