Evening Telehealth Psychiatrist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations for patients in the Emergency Department.

• Carry out psychiatric admission evaluations.

• Diagnose and treat a diverse array of mental health disorders in an acute care hospital environment.

• Prescribe and oversee psychotropic medications, modifying treatment plans as necessary.

• Develop personalized treatment plans that encompass medication management, psychotherapy, and additional interventions.

• Engage in chart audits, peer reviews, meetings, and provider management activities.

• Keep medical records current in accordance with facility policies, state regulations, and standards of care.

• Uphold patient confidentiality and review files to ensure services are well documented.

• Assess patient status to confirm that treatment and therapeutic programs are being completed.

• Collaborate with psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other staff members to deliver integrated care.

• Offer immediate psychiatric care during crises, such as suicide attempts or acute psychiatric episodes.

• Strive to prevent incidents through proactive mental health management.

• Adhere to relevant regulations, laws, rules, procedures, policies, standards, and contractual obligations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possession of an active North Carolina medical license is mandatory.

• Minimum of 2 years of inpatient experience required.

• Experience with trauma is essential.

• Board Certified or eligible within one year of residency completion in Psychiatry.

• Valid and unrestricted DEA registration is necessary.

• Competence in utilizing telemedicine technologies for remote patient treatment.

• Preferably open to collaboration with PMHNP.

• Evening schedule from 3 PM to 11 PM.

• Additional licensure in Florida and Texas is preferred, or a compact license (PSYPACT).
