EUC VDI Solutions Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the architectural design of the Horizon environment on AWS, taking into account sizing, high availability, and disaster recovery aspects.

• Set up Connection Servers, Unified Access Gateways, and vCenter integration.

• Develop the golden image strategy, which includes base images, application layers, and user personas.

• Define and deploy desktop pools utilizing either instant clone or full clone methodologies along with entitlement policies.

• Integrate with the customer’s identity provider, encompassing Active Directory, MFA, and SSO.

• Implement monitoring and logging through vROps, CloudWatch, or similar tools.

• Create both high-level design and low-level design documentation, along with operational runbooks.

• Design, construct, and configure a production-ready Omnissa Horizon virtual desktop environment on AWS.

• Provision around 30 custom Windows images.

• Manage end-to-end design and deployment, which includes infrastructure architecture, connectivity, identity integration, and image management strategy.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in deploying and managing Omnissa/VMware Horizon environments.

• Strong understanding of AWS VPC design, EC2, EBS, FSx, Direct Connect/VPN, IAM, and Security Groups specifically for VDI workloads.

• Proven experience in deploying Horizon infrastructure on AWS via VMC on AWS or native EC2-based setups.

• Familiarity with integrating Horizon with Active Directory/LDAP, conditional access, MFA, RADIUS, SAML, or SSO.

• Knowledge in VLAN/subnet segmentation, firewall configurations, load balancing, UAG/ALB, DNS, and DHCP for desktop pools.

• Experience with Omnissa App Volumes, Dynamic Environment Manager, or similar layering/profile management solutions.

• In-depth knowledge of Windows 10/11 Enterprise multi-session and Server OS image optimization for VDI.

• Experience in STIG/CIS hardening of VDI images, endpoint security integration, and GPO management for virtual desktops.

• Omnissa Certified Professional (VCP-DTM or equivalent) is preferred.

• AWS Solutions Architect certification is preferred.

• Experience with Omnissa Horizon Cloud on AWS is preferred.

• Familiarity with AWS WorkSpaces is preferred.

• Proficiency in Terraform or CloudFormation for infrastructure-as-code deployments is preferred.

• Experience in FedRAMP, IL4-IL5, or StateRAMP environments is preferred.
