Estimator – Unitized Curtain Wall

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Prepare and update detailed material takeoffs and quantity surveys under the guidance of senior estimating leadership.

• Examine architectural drawings, specifications, addenda, structural calculations, and engineering documents to assess project scope and pricing needs.

• Evaluate project schedules, including visual mock-ups, testing requirements, material procurement timelines, and installation sequences.

• Create thorough cost estimates covering materials, labor, equipment, transportation, taxes, and subcontractor expenses.

• Generate precise quantity takeoffs from architectural and structural drawings.

• Compile material summaries, sketches, and bid documentation essential for developing estimates.

• Gather, assess, and review vendor and subcontractor bids for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with project specifications.

• Manage bid-related communications, including the distribution of plans, specifications, and addenda to vendors and subcontractors.

• Draft bid proposals, pricing breakdowns, unit costs, clarifications, inclusions, and exclusions.

• Aid in the preparation of final bid packages and customer submissions.

• Engage in scope review meetings and maintain comprehensive meeting records.

• Follow up with general contractors and clients concerning bid submissions and feedback on proposals.

• Assist senior estimating staff with project pricing, budgeting, and proposal formulation.

• Employ Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, Word, and other estimating software tools to produce accurate estimates and reports.

• Adhere to all proposal deadlines while ensuring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least two (2) years of experience in estimating, sales, or preconstruction, preferably in the construction sector.

• Strong comprehension of architectural and structural drawings as well as construction documentation.

• Proven experience in preparing quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and bid proposals.

• Proficient in AutoCAD.

• Proficient in Revit.

• Proficient in Bluebeam.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas and spreadsheet analysis.

• Familiar with glass door systems.

• Familiar with point-supported glass wall systems.

• Familiar with high-span curtain wall systems.

• Familiar with unitized curtain wall systems.

• Familiar with storefront framing and entrance systems.

• Field construction experience related to the installation of unitized curtain walls or glazing.

• Knowledge of Kawneer storefront products and systems.

• Experience with PartnerPak estimating software for Kawneer.

• A college degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or a related field is preferred.
