This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Create precise cost estimates for structural steel fabrication projects, encompassing structural steel, miscellaneous steel, stairs, handrails, and pre-engineered metal building installations.
• Analyze architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Conduct quantity takeoffs utilizing estimating software and manual markups when necessary.
• Gather and assess vendor and supplier quotes for steel packages, materials, and subcontracted work.
• Collaborate closely with company leadership to comprehend estimating methods, labor rates, overhead costs, and target profit margins.
• Ensure that estimates are precise, thorough, and aligned with project profitability objectives.
• Employ estimating and construction management software platforms including Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Procore, and similar tools.
• Keep bid documentation organized and assist with project transitions following contract award.
• Take responsibility for the estimating process while aiding leadership in project management and business operations.
• 3–12+ years of experience in U.S. commercial construction estimating.
• Required experience in structural steel fabrication estimating.
• Extensive background in structural steel fabrication estimating.
• Experience in estimating miscellaneous metals and fabricated steel packages.
• Proven track record in obtaining vendor quotes and managing material pricing.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Procore, or equivalent tools.
• Familiarity with reviewing U.S. construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Must be available to work 40 hours per week during U.S. Central Time business hours.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Strong analytical capabilities with exceptional attention to detail.
• Comfortable operating within established estimating processes and workflows.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting with a high degree of accountability.
• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred.
