Estimator / Project Manager – Civil Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Review bid documentation

• Create and submit bids

• Calculate necessary material quantities and assess labor and equipment costs

• Identify and communicate project risks and constraints to management

• Analyze and plan work methods to ensure proper execution of tasks

• Engage in strategic discussions during the bid closing process

• Develop and maintain adherence to the project schedule

• Contribute to the management of awarded contracts

• Oversee costs and analyze project profitability

• Address technical inquiries from construction sites

• Attend project-related meetings

• Manage subcontractors and suppliers, including price analysis, negotiation, coordination, ordering, and follow-up

• Assess and negotiate any changes or additions needed for each contract

• Prepare compensation and/or claims documentation

• Carry out any other responsibilities pertinent to your role

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or DEC in Civil Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

• Extensive experience in estimating (3 to 5 years)

• Proficient in computer applications: Windows environment, MS Project, MS Office suite (Word, Excel), AutoCAD, TPL (an asset)

• Capability to read plans and specifications

• Self-sufficient, resourceful, and possess a strong sense of priorities

• Strong organizational skills and a sense of responsibility

• Ability to solve problems and make quick, well-informed decisions

• Commitment to meeting deadlines with speed and efficiency

• Professional demeanor and discretion

• Spoken language proficiency: Advanced French
