This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Accurately identify, quantify, and document piping and equipment related to various mechanical systems.

• Review all bidding documents and seek clarifications throughout the bidding process to ensure the assembly of an accurate bid.

• Handle budgeting, unit pricing, pipe sizing, general code compliance, and possess an understanding of the overall layout of Plumbing, Piping, and HVAC Duct Systems.

• Manage and bid on multiple projects simultaneously.

• Generate a comprehensive estimate that includes suitable materials, labor, and subcontractor choices; as well as alternates and unit pricing when necessary; along with a corresponding proposal that outlines the scope of work.

• Assess potential projects and determine optimal pricing solutions.

• Evaluate vendor and subcontractor proposals to ensure they meet job requirements and specifications.

• Estimate HVAC and plumbing projects along with change orders to align with corporate profit guidelines and project specifications.

• Provide conceptual designs and pricing to support the conceptual design for both HVAC and plumbing systems.

• Conduct system take-offs following the current B&K processes.

• Explore and assess potential value engineering options and associated costs with the B&K team.

• Develop general project conditions and other estimating scope summaries, schedules, and/or necessary tools and deliverables.

• Participate in bid finalization and review as required.

• Oversee supervisory, budgetary, and external communication responsibilities.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in pipe takeoff software such as Quickpen or Autobid is advantageous.

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Consistent reliability and availability.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced construction office environment.

• Capability to organize and manage documents related to work orders and personnel.

• Willingness and aptitude for learning new systems.

• Mechanical knowledge.

• Project management skills.

• Previous work experience and educational qualifications such as a BSME in Engineering/HVAC or Construction Business Management are preferred.

• Strong communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills.

• Proficient in MS Word and Excel, with the ability to assemble a detailed quote.

• Experience working in an open/team environment, while also being able to work independently.

• Strong multitasking, organizational, and prioritization abilities.
