This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Define, oversee, and implement the product roadmap for the University’s electronic Research Administration systems, focusing on enhancements and feature releases that optimize workflows and lessen administrative load.
• Act as the main connection between Notre Dame Research Administration and Compliance, Campus IT, and external software vendors to represent institutional needs and shape product development.
• Direct the governance and integration strategy for research administration platforms, ensuring efficient data exchange among eRA systems, HRIS, ERP, and other enterprise applications.
• Supervise research data governance practices to establish uniform standards, enhance data quality, and facilitate dependable institutional reporting and analytics.
• Configure and uphold system validations and workflows to align with changing federal regulations and sponsor requirements, including NSF, NIH, USDA, and other compliance standards.
• Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to pinpoint opportunities for process enhancement, automation, and improved reporting capabilities.
• Create and sustain system documentation, business processes, and training materials to encourage the successful adoption of system improvements and transitions.
• Lead “train-the-trainer” programs and assist change management initiatives across the research community.
• Monitor system performance, gather user feedback, and track emerging industry trends to guide ongoing improvement efforts.
• Assist with reporting and data visualization tasks to convert research administration data into actionable insights for leadership decision-making.
• Contribute to audit readiness efforts by ensuring precise system configurations, data integrity, and compliance documentation.
• Engage in vendor user groups, professional organizations, and research administration communities to remain updated on best practices and emerging technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Research Administration, or a related field.
• Over 7 years of experience in research administration, enterprise systems management, or a similar field.
• At least 3 years in a leadership, Product Owner, Product Manager, or comparable strategic systems role.
• Experience with enterprise-level software implementations, preferably in research administration, ERP, or higher education settings.
• In-depth knowledge of the research grant lifecycle, encompassing pre-award, post-award, and compliance functions.
• Strong comprehension of enterprise systems architecture, integrations, and data governance principles.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders without direct supervisory authority.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to interpret complex data and recognize operational trends.
• Strong communication skills with the capability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences, including faculty and senior leadership.
• Ability to balance strategic planning with operational execution in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail and compliance requirements.
