Epic Systems Analyst – Sched/Reg, Grand Central, Prelude, Cadence, Welcome

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Assist in the design, construction, testing, training, deployment, and ongoing support of Epic applications.

• Collect and refine stakeholder requirements, map workflows, and create Epic configurations.

• Develop specifications, decision logs, design documents, configuration documentation, and support procedures.

• Perform gap analyses for upgrades, regulatory changes, and new initiatives.

• Aid in small projects and enhancements using established waterfall or agile methodologies.

• Configure Epic records, master files, profiles, rules, security classes, and workflows.

• Create and execute unit, integrated, and UAT test plans; address defects and document evidence.

• Validate interfaces, printing, reporting, downstream workflows, and regression coverage.

• Oversee release management, environment transitions, and downtime procedures.

• Provide go-live and post-live hypercare, rounding, office hours, tip sheets, and direct support.

• Manage service requests and incidents, meet SLAs, triage issues, document resolutions, and conduct root-cause analysis.

• Collaborate with interface and analytics teams on integrations, extracts, registries, and reporting.

• Support regulatory compliance, audits, privacy/security controls, and ITIL-aligned processes.

• For the Application Training role, maintain CareConnect curriculum, training environments, release communications, and end-user training support.

• Identify support trends and propose preventative measures and process enhancements.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.

• 1–3 years of experience in system/application analysis, support, or similar IT experience; healthcare environment preferred.

• In the absence of a degree, 5+ years of experience in system/application analysis, support, or related IT experience.

• Familiarity with Epic applications and healthcare workflows.

• Strong skills in requirements gathering, workflow design, and testing.

• Understanding of ITIL, change control, SDLC practices, system governance, and waterfall/agile methodologies.

• Ability to communicate effectively with clinical and operational stakeholders and managed service providers.

• Capability to produce clear and concise documentation.

• Ability to support small to medium initiatives and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

• For Application Training: Epic Training Environment Build certification/proficiency or willingness to obtain within the required timeframe, plus 1+ year of training environment build or application support experience.

• Epic Principal Trainer certification preferred or willingness to obtain within the required timeframe.

• For Application Build: current Epic certification or proficiency in relevant modules preferred.

• 1+ year of Epic build/configuration experience preferred.

• Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, interface testing, reporting, and healthcare data concepts preferred.

• Prior experience in patient access, billing, coding, finance, or clinical operations preferred for respective modules.

• ITIL Foundation certification is desired but not mandatory.

• Certifications in Epic applications, healthcare systems or hospital experience, knowledge of healthcare regulations, cloud platforms, and business intelligence tools are desired.
