Epic Interface Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, build, configure, test, and maintain interfaces for Epic Bridges.

• Develop and support HL7 interfaces, including ADT, ORM, ORU, SIU, DFT, MDM, and various other healthcare messaging standards.

• Configure and support interface engines such as Cloverleaf, Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, Corepoint, or similar integration platforms.

• Monitor the performance of interfaces and proactively troubleshoot issues related to message failures, queue problems, and data discrepancies.

• Conduct interface testing, validation, integrated testing, and oversee production deployments.

• Analyze both business and technical requirements and convert them into interface specifications.

• Collaborate with Epic application analysts, infrastructure teams, vendors, and owners of third-party systems on integration projects.

• Provide support for Epic upgrades, new implementations, optimization initiatives, and go-live activities.

• Perform root cause analysis and resolve production issues while adhering to SLA commitments.

• Create and maintain interface documentation, technical specifications, workflow diagrams, and support procedures.

• Engage in change management, release management, and provide after-hours support as necessary.

• Ensure that integrations meet organizational standards for security, privacy, and interoperability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or a relevant field.

• Over 4 years of experience in healthcare interface development.

• More than 2 years of direct experience with Epic Bridges.

• Possession of Epic Bridges Certification.

• Significant experience in developing and supporting HL7 v2 interfaces.

• Familiarity with one or more interface engines (Cloverleaf, Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, Corepoint, etc.).

• Experience in troubleshooting interface failures, message transformations, acknowledgments, and connectivity issues.

• Understanding of TCP/IP networking, VPNs, web services, APIs, and integration architecture.

• Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

• Salary based on qualifications and experience ranging from $110,000 to $150,000.
