EPIC Applications Analyst Associate – Inpatient Orders

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Collaborates with users and leadership to create and/or adjust procedures due to workflow process changes related to Epic clinical and business application usage.

• Clearly articulates the functionality of the assigned Epic applications and associated systems to users.

• Aids users in utilizing the full capabilities of the applications.

• Prepares contributions for the requirements definition, including user procedures, flowcharts, and preliminary report and screen specifications.

• Supports the development of effective unit, integration, system, and end-user acceptance testing by executing tests and tracking problem reports.

• Collaborates with users and team members to prioritize user requests and reviews, clarifying their needs.

• Assists in conducting impact analysis.

• Documents existing workflows, specifications, user manuals, procedures, and other pertinent information.

• Completes all change and quality control documentation following departmental standards.

• Participates in testing, user training, and evaluation of results.

• Monitors and tracks standardized projects, with the necessary support from team/technical staff, for the Epic application areas involved, keeping users and management updated on progress and possible delays.

• Observes and records post-implementation issues and revision requests.

• Identifies ongoing application system issues for all assigned applications and communicates trends to the Sr./Lead Application Product Analyst.

• Maintains product documentation, including requirements, functional specifications, installation instructions, product test procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.

• Aids in the proper completion of all change and quality control documentation according to departmental standards.

• Assists in conveying project status and updates to clinic users, including any anticipated delays or downtimes related to applications.

• Develops and sustains a comprehensive understanding of clinical/laboratory and/or business operations for the supported Epic applications.

• Helps in scheduling and managing application version upgrades for assigned systems.

• Engages in the maintenance, enhancement, and interfacing of assigned applications.

• Troubleshoots and resolves user issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Computer Science or a related discipline.

• Generally requires 1 year of experience with automated laboratory and/or business systems.

• Basic understanding of computer operating platforms, applications software, and network software.

• Proven analytical skills essential for making informed recommendations based on data analysis and business needs, ensuring maximum productivity and continual process improvement.

• Demonstrated capability to translate user requirements into system specifications.

• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access) or comparable products.

• Ability to prepare, import, and manipulate data in spreadsheets and databases.

• Basic knowledge and competence in using project management software, tools, and methodologies.

• Knowledge, understanding, and ability to adhere to change management processes.
