Epic Analyst – Beaker

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate laboratory workflows and convert them into Epic Beaker functionalities and customizations for Baylor Genetics.

• Develop and uphold Epic-to-external-system interfaces in collaboration with the Epic Bridges Analyst utilizing HL7, X12, FHIR, and associated technologies.

• Collaborate with the technology team to share configurations and assist in workflow testing.

• Identify, triage, and document build requests for the Epic Aura compendium.

• Conduct data analysis and deliver reporting support for laboratory operations.

• Examine laboratory workflows to discover digital optimization opportunities through Epic Beaker.

• Work alongside laboratory leadership and clinical teams to collect requirements and translate them into effective system solutions.

• Document and standardize laboratory processes within the Epic framework.

• Offer support and troubleshoot issues related to connections between Epic Beaker and laboratory information systems.

• Assist with HL7 messaging and integration testing.

• Provide support during go-live events, upgrades, and new Aura implementations.

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations, workflows, SOPs, and change requests.

• Educate laboratory staff, clinical end-users, and IT support teams on Beaker features and best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent education and/or experience is required.

• Epic Beaker Certification is mandatory.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in supporting Epic Beaker or a similar laboratory information system (LIS).

• Experience with Epic Aura and Bridges is preferred.

• Knowledge of HL7, FHIR, API-based interoperability, and digital health workflows is essential.

• Background in clinical laboratory operations and genetic testing workflows is required.

• Understanding of HIPAA, PHI data security, and regulatory compliance in healthcare IT is necessary.

• Familiarity with programming languages is preferred.

• Expertise in Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is necessary.

• Proficient in RESTful APIs.

• Skilled in Epic Bridges.

• Proficient in HL7.

• Knowledgeable in FHIR interoperability.

• Experienced in healthcare systems integration.

• Skilled in interface development.

• Proficient in Epic Beaker.

• Experienced in Epic Aura.

• Skilled in Care Everywhere.

• Experienced in interface testing and validation.
