This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Conduct research on environmental elements identified during project assessments and identify environmental issues along with necessary mitigation strategies.

• Collaborate with federal and state agencies to secure environmental permitting approval for construction activities.

• Assist in state and local land use and environmental permitting processes, encompassing conditional/special use permits and certificates of environmental compatibility.

• Provide compliance support or fieldwork assistance for projects.

• Oversee project budgets and timelines.

• Aid in the development of proposals or scopes of work.

• Facilitate the coordination of survey initiatives between third-party consultants and federal agencies.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Natural Sciences, or a related field; or 30 credit hours in Biology combined with pertinent field experience is required.

• 5 to 10 years of proven experience in environmental agency permitting.

• Familiarity with federal grant-related environmental regulations, including the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and Section 106 compliance.

• Experience collaborating with federal, state, and/or local agencies on environmental permitting or cultural resource issues.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of preparing agency correspondence, environmental and cultural resource reports, and project documentation.

• Proficient in Google Earth, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, Excel, and Word.

• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and adapt to changing requirements.

• Experience working with federal agencies such as USACE, FERC, BLM, USFS, and/or USFWS.

• Background in supporting telecommunications, fiber optic, or other linear infrastructure projects.

• Experience coordinating with SHPOs, state archaeological agencies, municipalities, and other permitting authorities.
