This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
β’ Conduct research on environmental components identified during reviews to assess concerns and necessary mitigation measures.
β’ Collaborate with federal and state agencies to secure environmental permitting clearance for construction activities.
β’ Assist in state and local land use and environmental permitting efforts, which include conditional or special use permits and certificates of environmental compatibility.
β’ Offer support for project compliance or fieldwork, including budget and milestone coordination, as well as proposal or scope-of-work development assistance.
β’ Facilitate survey activities between third-party consultants and federal agencies as needed.
β’ Aid in environmental permitting and compliance evaluations for broadband and telecommunications construction projects governed by NEPA and Section 7.
β’ Draft and submit environmental reports and documentation to federal, state, and local agencies for clients in Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois.
β’ A Bachelorβs degree in biology, Environmental Science, Natural Sciences, or a related field; or 30 credit hours in Biology combined with relevant field experience is necessary.
β’ 5 to 10 years of proven experience in environmental agency permitting.
β’ Familiarity with federal grant-related environmental regulations, including the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and Section 106 compliance.
β’ Experience collaborating with federal, state, and/or local agencies on environmental permitting or cultural resource issues.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create agency correspondence, environmental and cultural resource reports, and project documentation.
β’ Proficient in Google Earth, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, Excel, and Word, with a capacity to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing requirements effectively.
β’ Preferred: Experience working with USACE, FERC, BLM, USFS, and/or USFWS.
β’ Preferred: Background in supporting telecommunications, fiber optic, or other linear infrastructure projects.
β’ Preferred: Experience coordinating with SHPOs, state archaeological agencies, municipalities, and other permitting authorities.
