Environmental Scientist – Human Health and Safety

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Deliver Technical Support Services in Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) for the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program.

• Conduct environmental assessments of recipient data and information.

• Prepare draft documents, primarily focusing on categorical exclusions, in accordance with the NEPA review process.

• Engage in data collection and clarification with the Technology Project Officer (TPO) and project recipients.

• Consolidate information for reports related to historic preservation.

• Oversee and monitor incoming project submissions and communications directed to the EECBG NEPA Inbox.

• Generate reports for NEPA personnel concerning Environmental Questionnaire Verification Checklists, Statement of Project Objectives, and other relevant documentation.

• Participate in and document outcomes from assigned meetings, hearings, and telephone conversations.

• Track and report on NEPA progress.

• Assist in the development of environmental policies and training programs.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.

• A minimum of 10 years' experience in environmental analysis and documentation.

• Expertise in Health and Safety: Specialized knowledge in assessing and analyzing human health and safety.

• Familiarity with health and safety regulations and standards.

• Technical Writing Skills: Competence in drafting technical sections related to human health and safety.

• Ability to effectively communicate findings related to health and safety.

• Review Skills: Capability to perform technical reviews for health and safety evaluations.

• Quality assurance expertise for health and safety documentation.

• Collaboration skills for working with both internal and external stakeholders.
