This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Perform scheduled and emergency environmental inspections at operational sites to assess:
• Management, labeling, and storage of hazardous waste
• Handling of universal waste and electronic waste
• Stormwater and wastewater management systems
• Measures for spill prevention and control
• Compliance with air emissions, refrigerant management, and equipment standards
• Management of solid waste and recycling processes
• Storage of chemicals
• Management and storage of materials
• Evaluate locations such as loading docks, fuel systems, waste storage areas, material handling zones, and mechanical rooms for environmental hazards.
• Examine facility documentation, including:
• Manifests for hazardous waste
• Plans for emergency response
• Logs for spills and incident reports
• Checklists for inspections
• Records of training
• Environmental permits
• Environmental documentation
• Records of equipment
• Data on environmental performance
• Generate comprehensive inspection reports utilizing standardized online reporting tools
• Suggest corrective measures to rectify compliance deficiencies
• Conduct fieldwork, which includes the collection and processing of environmental samples (stormwater, wastewater, air, etc.)
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Management, Biology, Geology, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• 0-3 years of experience in conducting environmental inspections, audits, or regulatory compliance evaluations.
• Preferred experience in distribution, logistics, warehousing, or manufacturing settings.
• Familiarity with essential environmental regulations (RCRA, EPCRA, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, DOT hazardous materials).
• Capability to interpret environmental records, manifests, and regulatory documents.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, auditing tools, and reporting platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Comfortable working autonomously in field environments.
