This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Direct strategic environmental initiatives and provide consultation on environmental/civil structural projects nationwide.
• Collaborate with business and environmental platform leadership to identify and prioritize high-impact environmental projects.
• Stay updated on environmental best practices, regulations, and technologies related to industrial wastewater, process water, and solid waste.
• Assess environmental project alternatives and technologies.
• Choose equipment and vendor partnerships.
• Identify effective contracting approaches.
• Organize, mentor, and lead project teams from the conceptual phase through to operational startup.
• Utilize the Georgia-Pacific Business Process for Projects workflow.
• Provide on-site support during project management, construction, and startup phases.
• Assist facilities across the continental United States, with a focus on the Southeast and Northwest regions.
• Achieve project objectives that meet or surpass environmental standards, timelines, costs, and performance criteria.
• Cultivate knowledge and application of Principle Based Management.
• Act as a subject matter expert for facilities throughout the organization.
• Work collaboratively with Georgia-Pacific manufacturing facilities and project and engineering teams.
• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Project Management, or equivalent experience.
• At least two (2) years of project management experience in a Manufacturing or similar industrial setting, or 2+ years in Environmental Compliance.
• Experience in cross-functional team collaboration.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.
• Preferred: A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Preferred: Five (5) or more years of project or construction management experience in a process manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge and experience in the design, construction, or operation of wastewater treatment systems, water treatment plants, or solid waste management facilities.
• Familiarity with phased project processes, methodologies, schedules, and deliverables.
• Experience in developing proposals, reports, and presentations.
• Proven ability to build project teams using both internal and external resources.
• Industry experience in pulp, paper, and building products.
• Proficiency with project management software such as EcoSys, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or SAP.
• Strong skills in Microsoft tools including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
• Eligibility to work in the United States; employer participates in E-Verify.
