This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Perform Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) in compliance with ASTM standards and EPA regulations.
• Conduct site reconnaissance to identify potential environmental issues through visual inspections and interviews.
• Research historical land use utilizing aerial photographs, fire insurance maps, city directories, and regulatory databases.
• Evaluate environmental records and regulatory agency files to determine contamination risks.
• Compose clear, concise, and technically accurate ESA reports that include findings and recommendations.
• Prepare supplementary documentation such as site maps, figures, appendices, and photographic logs.
• May collect limited samples (e.g., building materials, water, air) as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
• Liaise with clients, property owners, and site contacts to coordinate access and gather necessary information.
• Work collaboratively with project managers and technical reviewers to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and budgets to guarantee timely completion.
• Keep updated on environmental regulations, industry developments, and best practices.
• Engage in training sessions, webinars, and mentorship opportunities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience writing Phase I environmental site assessments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Valid driver's license and readiness to travel for field work.
• Internship or consulting experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
