Entry Level Background Investigator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Employ technology, electronic tools, and various systems concurrently to perform thorough interviews with subjects, employers, associates, references, and other knowledgeable parties, as well as to review relevant records to gather facts.

• Address all significant issues within a case to determine the background, reputation, character, suitability, or qualifications of the individual being investigated.

• Interviews for this role will be carried out utilizing diverse methods, including Virtual Teleconference (VTC), phone interviews, and in-person meetings, with VTC being the primary approach.

• Participate in an extensive multiweek virtual training program, complemented by additional shadowing and mentorship from an experienced Investigator.

• Possible travel to various locations across the U.S. for temporary duty assignments (TDY), usually lasting around 2 weeks.

• A Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years of general experience demonstrating increasing responsibility in problem-solving, planning, organizing work, and effective oral and written communication.

• Capability to obtain and uphold a favorable determination based on a T5 Investigation.

• A strong commitment to supporting national security initiatives.

• An outstanding work ethic, integrity, and a positive, proactive attitude.

• Proficiency in navigating and utilizing multiple technology systems concurrently to ensure workflow efficiency and productivity.

• A valid driver’s license, a reliable personal vehicle, and a willingness to travel locally based on assignment location.

• A home office situated within a reasonable distance to work areas and equipped with reliable high-speed Internet (a $50 monthly internet stipend is provided).

• Ability to sit, type, stand, or walk for extended periods.

• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to:

• Convey complex or sensitive information effectively to individuals or groups.

• Listen attentively to others, respond appropriately to nonverbal cues, and deliver clear and persuasive oral presentations.

• Cultivate strong relationships with diverse individuals and navigate challenging situations with tact and professionalism.

• Demonstrate correct use of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; communicate information (for instance, facts, ideas, or messages) in a concise and organized manner; produce written content that may include technical material tailored for the intended audience.
