Entry Level Background Investigator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Utilize technology, electronic tools, and various systems concurrently to perform thorough interviews.

• Conduct interviews with subjects, employers, associates, references, and other informed individuals.

• Examine relevant records to gather factual information.

• Address all significant issues within a case.

• Determine the background, reputation, character, suitability, or credentials of the individual under investigation.

• Conduct interviews through Virtual Teleconference (VTC), phone calls, and face-to-face meetings, primarily using VTC.

• Participate in a multi-week intensive virtual training program.

• Complete additional shadowing and mentorship with an experienced Investigator.

• Potentially travel to various locations across the U.S. for temporary duty assignments, generally lasting 2 weeks.

• Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years of relevant general experience showcasing progressive responsibility in problem-solving, planning, organizing work, and effective oral and written communication.

• Ability to obtain and sustain a favorable determination based on a T5 Investigation.

• Strong commitment to supporting national security initiatives.

• Exemplary work ethic, integrity, and a proactive, positive attitude.

• Competence in navigating and using multiple technology systems simultaneously.

• Valid driver’s license.

• Dependable personal vehicle.

• Willingness to travel locally based on assignment location.

• Home office that is reasonably close to work areas.

• Reliable high-speed internet connection.

• Capability to sit, type, stand, or walk for extended durations.

• Outstanding time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Skill in conveying complex or sensitive information effectively.

• Capacity to listen attentively, respond to nonverbal cues appropriately, and deliver clear and persuasive oral presentations.

• Ability to maintain strong relationships with diverse individuals and manage challenging situations with tact and professionalism.

• Proficient in correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

• Active Top-Secret Clearance based on a T5 [listed as a nice to have].
