Entrepreneur in Residence – Technical Co-founder, CTO

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of problem framing, architecture, system design, and product judgment from the outset, transforming initial product intentions into structured contexts and specifications that can be executed by both humans and AI systems.

• Leverage modern tools and advanced models to maintain speed without compromising on quality or maintainability, crafting agentic systems through first-principles thinking and discerning when orchestration is advantageous versus when simplicity is preferable.

• Serve as the leading technical voice in early customer discussions, comprehending genuine workflows and guiding the development of the right product instead of merely focusing on rapid delivery.

• Establish validation for scalability prior to considering expansion, prioritizing traction before team-building efforts.

• Participate in fundraising activities, engaging in investor discussions and due diligence processes.

• Hire and nurture a technical team when appropriate, while laying down the cultural groundwork for the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated success in delivering AI products to actual users within real-world constraints — avoiding research, experiments, or prototypes.

• Extensive hands-on experience with cutting-edge models, LLM-based systems, and agentic architectures, coupled with strong instincts for system design and a preference for simplicity and maintainability.

• Proficient in creating a strong translation layer — capable of clarifying ambiguous product intent into well-defined structures, constraints, and specifications that both humans and AI systems can act upon.

• Close engagement with customers, comfortable in discussions, and adept at allowing actual workflows to influence product development.

• Meticulous about verification — establishing feedback loops, evaluations, and systems that inspire trust.

• Previous experience as a technical co-founder or an early engineering leader, with fundraising experience being a significant advantage.

• Possess the qualities of a founder — motivated by uncertainty, capable of operating independently, and prepared to fully commit.
