• Accountable for the planning, construction, maintenance, expansion, and execution of technical responsibilities in support of Hanford’s Enterprise Architecture initiatives.
• Possess a comprehensive understanding of business challenges and objectives, which includes system functional, non-functional, performance, reliability, security, and growth requirements.
• Design and assess data solutions to ensure they align with business objectives and technical standards.
• Execute thorough evaluations of solution architectures against defined requirements, conduct risk assessments, and devise mitigation strategies as necessary.
• Analyze and suggest new technologies while assessing the current technology landscape to identify limitations and constraints.
• Assist in defining and establishing architectural solutions that adhere to organizational policies, compliance mandates, and industry standards.
• Plan data movement across systems, ensuring accessibility and compliance with data privacy regulations and accessibility standards.
• Create data solutions that are compatible with various AI engines to facilitate AI-related functions.
• Document interactions and integrations of solution components with other systems and services to guarantee seamless operation.
• Develop solutions incorporating robust security measures and data backup/recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
• Ensure solutions are maintainable, exhibit high uptime, and are straightforward to modify and update.
• Foster clear communication and collaboration among stakeholders, developers, and teams to facilitate change.
• Provide technical guidance, support, and mentoring for data-related projects throughout the organization.
• Implement and uphold data security protocols, ensuring data privacy and compliance with policies and regulations.
• Establish and enforce best practices for data management and governance.
• Undertake other responsibilities as appropriate and assigned.
• Bachelor’s Degree and 15+ years of IT-related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Demonstrated work experience as a Data Architect, Data Scientist, Data Analyst, or in a similar capacity.
• Capability to pass a background and drug screening.
• Must possess identification compliant with the Real ID Act at the time of hire.
• Must be eligible to obtain a Department of Energy access badge.
