This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Design and architect IT systems that integrate processes, applications, data, and technology.
• Ensure that all systems are aligned with business objectives and enterprise IT standards.
• Plan, troubleshoot, and provide guidance to technical teams on strategic, operational, secure, and cost-effective solutions.
• Ensure a cohesive architecture across interdependent on-premises and cloud technology systems.
• Create and manage architecture assets within the designated portfolio and business scope.
• Develop technical design recommendations for new products, services, applications, and technology solutions.
• Identify risks or issues related to technology solutions and design that may impact project benefits.
• Assist stakeholders in resolving or mitigating project risks and delays.
• Engage in system specification reviews to translate requirements into valid software architecture.
• Research relevant technologies and conduct proofs of concept and prototypes.
• Recommend technological applications for future product architecture.
• Deliver innovative solutions that are tailored to the needs of the organization.
• Provide architectural insights for business cases, including feasibility, risks, and alignment with enterprise strategy.
• Stay informed of industry technical and business trends through professional associations, practice communities, and personal learning.
• Oversee complex projects and cross-domain initiatives across multiple teams.
• Integrate diverse systems with overarching business strategies and enterprise goals.
• Design scalable, sustainable, and compliant solutions.
• Operate at a group/enterprise-wide level as a specialist resource for senior leaders and stakeholders.
• Tackle complex, ambiguous, and non-routine problems with creativity.
• Implement changes in response to evolving trends.
• Apply BMO’s Risk Management Framework and Risk Culture while safeguarding the bank and its assets.
• Undertake other broader work or responsibilities as assigned.
• Typically, 7+ years of relevant experience.
• A post-secondary degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• An experienced professional with a blend of education, experience, and industry knowledge.
