This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• New Business Development: Identify, engage, and close new opportunities within federal, state, and local government agencies as well as public sector organizations, focusing on entities with intricate 24/7 frontline workforce operations such as corrections, transit, utilities, and public safety.
• Expertise in the Industry: Acquire a comprehensive understanding of government operations, including knowledge of civil service regulations, union labor agreements, FLSA compliance for public employees, and the scheduling needs of essential government services that function continuously.
• Consultative Selling: Lead sales discussions by aligning Indeavor’s workforce management platform with the strategic objectives of government clients, showcasing ROI and operational benefits.
• Managing the Sales Pipeline: Develop and sustain a strong sales pipeline through strategic prospecting, networking, and utilizing industry events and referrals. Ensure that Salesforce account and opportunity data is up-to-date and accurate.
• Collaboration Across Functions: Work alongside Marketing, Product, and Customer Experience teams to customize messaging, demonstrations, and onboarding strategies for government clients. Additionally, collaborate with the Implementation Team to guarantee a successful transition into the deployment and delivery phase of the customer journey.
• Relationship Management: Build enduring relationships with key stakeholders within government, HR, and operations to ensure customer satisfaction and account expansion. Become a trusted advisor to customers, focusing on delivering value through the Indeavor Platform.
• Sales Forecasting & Reporting: Maintain precise sales forecasts and activity reports utilizing CRM tools, providing insights into performance and the health of the pipeline.
• Market Awareness: Keep abreast of industry trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory changes impacting government operations to inform sales strategy and product feedback.
• Developing Business Cases & Value: Capable of compiling specific business cases, return on investment, and overall value propositions for our customers to invest in the Indeavor platform.
• Navigating Contract Negotiations: Manage public sector procurement processes, including RFPs, RFIs, sole-source justifications, cooperative purchasing agreements (e.g., NASPO, Sourcewell, OMNIA), and master price agreements. Engage with procurement officers and legal teams to drive contracts to completion.
• Fiscal Awareness: Stay informed about government budget cycles, fiscal year timelines, and funding mechanisms (e.g., ARPA, COPS grants) that may affect purchasing timing and structure proposals to align with available funding periods.
• Meeting Quotas: Consistently achieve or surpass quarterly and annual revenue goals through disciplined sales execution and strategic account planning.
• Participation in Events & Conferences: Attend government events throughout the year to enhance brand recognition and identify potential customers.
• Bachelor’s degree
• 3-5+ years of experience with Government agencies and their procurement processes
• 3-5+ years in a sales organization or customer-facing role
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Strong multitasking and organizational abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience in B2B SaaS sales
• Preference for candidates with a background selling to state/local or federal government accounts
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Familiarity with CRM, AI, and issue ticketing systems
• Willingness to travel – Approximately 20% per year
