This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Facilitate several online Supplemental Instruction sessions weekly to foster engaging student discussions about challenging course material (40%)
• Develop interactive activities suitable for online sessions to captivate students' interest in the session and the course material instead of merely lecturing them (40%)
• Apply effective, course-specific study and learning techniques to enhance students’ chances for academic growth (10%)
• Attend mandatory SI Leader Orientation, training sessions, and scheduled meetings as required by the Director of Tutoring Services (5%)
• Perform SI-related administrative tasks as directed by the Director of Online Tutoring Services (5%)
• Current undergraduate or graduate student residing on campus
• Achieve an "A" or "B" in the course you intend to tutor
• Maintain a cumulative LU GPA of no less than 3.0
• Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills with individuals from diverse educational, cultural, and social backgrounds
• Show enthusiasm for supporting and aiding students in enhancing their understanding of course content and effective study habits
• Demonstrate a high level of responsibility, reliability, punctuality, and organizational skills
• Exhibit appropriate and professional conduct
