This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Translate patent-related materials from English to Portuguese (Brazil), ensuring the original meaning is expressed clearly and understandably for the intended audience.

• Conduct linguistic quality assessments (LQA) on translated content from English (en-US) to Portuguese (pt-BR).

• Identify and rectify linguistic inaccuracies, maintaining consistency in terminology, style, and compliance with client-specific guidelines.

• Offer detailed feedback to translators and develop thorough quality reports.

• Guarantee adherence to client-specific style guides, glossaries, and project requirements.

• Utilize CAT tools (JIRA, XTM) to efficiently review and evaluate translations.

• Manage weekly workload to accommodate over 5,000 words per locale, ensuring tasks are completed on schedule.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in linguistics, translation, biology, or a related field.

• A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in translation, linguistic quality assessment, copywriting, or copy-editing, particularly within the realm of patents or technical content.

• Strong grasp of biological terminology and the ability to simplify complex scientific language for target audiences.

• Outstanding proficiency in English (en-US) and Portuguese (pt-PT).

• Demonstrated experience in reviewing or translating patents or technical documents.

• Skilled in using CAT tools such as JIRA and XTM for project management and quality evaluation.
