English Instructor, Full-Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students essential English skills to enhance their long-term comprehension of subjects and achieve top scores on college readiness exams (ACT & SAT).

• Monitor your students’ development as they progress through Vanguard’s distinctive multi-phase curriculum, providing tailored growth and improvement opportunities along the way.

• Keep student lesson schedules current, hold them accountable for their assignments, and exemplify professionalism alongside strong organizational skills through timely communication with students.

• Lead the creation and innovative implementation of continually evolving lesson plans and curriculum.

• Support middle and high school students with empathy, recognizing that the college application process is becoming more competitive and stressful.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities discipline from U.S. institutions (such as English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.), with a Master’s degree or higher preferred.

• Teaching experience in English and/or experience working in a college-level Writing Center (1+ years).

• Proven academic excellence (e.g., 3.5+ GPA).

• Exceptional verbal skills and a strong command of the English language.

• Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites.

• Availability of a reliable internet connection and a workspace with minimal noise and distractions.

• Willingness to work during Hours of Operations: Tuesdays to Thursdays from 1:30 pm CST to 9:30 pm CST; Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30 am CST to 5:30 pm CST.
