English Instructor – FT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students the essential English skills necessary for long-term comprehension of subjects and achieving top scores on their college readiness exams (ACT & SAT).

• Monitor your students’ progress as they navigate Vanguard’s distinct multi-phase curriculum, fostering individualized growth and improvement opportunities throughout their learning journey.

• Keep student lesson schedules updated, ensure accountability for assignments, and exemplify professionalism along with strong organizational skills through prompt student communication.

• Lead the creation and innovative implementation of continually evolving lesson plans and curriculum.

• Support middle and high school students with empathy, recognizing that the college application process is becoming increasingly competitive and stressful.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities discipline from accredited US institutions (such as English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.) (Master’s degree or higher preferred).

• At least one year of teaching experience in English or experience in a college-level Writing Center.

• Proven academic excellence, demonstrated by a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

• Excellent verbal communication skills and a strong command of the English language.

• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Google Workspace.

• Access to a reliable internet connection and a workspace that minimizes noise and distractions.

• Willingness to work during the designated Hours of Operations: Tuesdays to Thursdays from 1:30 pm CST to 9:30 pm CST, and Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30 am CST to 5:30 pm CST.
