This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Teach small groups of students essential English skills to foster a deep understanding of subjects and achieve high scores on their college readiness examinations (ACT & SAT).
• Monitor your students’ development as they progress through Vanguard’s distinctive multi-phase curriculum, offering personalized growth and improvement opportunities along the way.
• Maintain and revise student lesson schedules, hold them accountable for their assignments, and exemplify professionalism along with strong organizational skills through timely communication with students.
• Lead the creation and innovative implementation of continually evolving lesson plans and curriculum.
• Support middle and high school students with empathy, recognizing that the college application process is increasingly competitive and stressful.
• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities discipline from accredited US institutions (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.) (Master’s or higher preferred).
• At least 1 year of teaching experience in English and/or experience in a college-level Writing Center.
• Proven academic excellence (e.g., 3.5+ GPA).
• Exceptional verbal communication skills and mastery of the English language.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites.
• Reliable access to a stable internet connection and a workspace with minimal noise and distractions.
• Willingness to work during the following Hours of Operations: Mondays and Fridays: Closed; Tuesdays to Thursdays: 1:30 pm CST to 9:30 pm CST; Saturdays and Sundays: 9:30 am CST to 5:30 pm CST.
