English Instructor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students the core skills needed in English to foster a deep understanding of subjects and achieve high scores on their college readiness exams (ACT & SAT).

• Monitor your students’ advancement through Vanguard’s distinctive multi-phase curriculum, providing personalized growth and improvement opportunities throughout their journey.

• Keep student lesson schedules updated, ensure accountability for assignments, and exemplify professionalism along with strong organizational abilities through timely communication with students.

• Lead the creation and innovative implementation of continually evolving lesson plans and curriculum.

• Support middle and high school students with empathy, recognizing that the college application process is growing more competitive and stressful.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree or higher in a humanities discipline from US institutions (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.) (Master’s degree or higher preferred).

• At least 1 year of teaching experience in English and/or experience in a college-level Writing Center.

• Evidence of academic excellence (e.g., a GPA of 3.5 or higher).

• Excellent verbal communication skills and a strong command of the English language.

• Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites.

• Reliable internet access and a workspace with minimal noise and distractions.

• Willingness to work during designated Hours of Operations.
