Engineering Team Lead, Sandbox

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Lead the team, which encompasses hiring, coaching, managing performance, developing career paths, and providing feedback.

• Allocate around half of your time to architectural decisions and tackling the team's most challenging technical issues.

• Develop the isolation layer utilizing microVMs or containers, namespaces, cgroups, seccomp, and snapshot/restore functionalities.

• Take responsibility for the security boundary concerning untrusted customer code.

• Scale sandbox fleets to support thousands of concurrent environments.

• Write in Go and take charge of architectural and complex implementation choices.

• Mentor engineers and establish standards for accountability and ownership.

• Collaborate with Product Managers to transform pioneering research requirements into deployable primitives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 2 years of leadership experience in managing teams.

• Proven experience in managing engineers, including hiring, coaching, providing constructive feedback, and fostering team development.

• Extensive knowledge of Linux internals, encompassing namespaces, cgroups, seccomp, and virtualization.

• Ideally, experience with microVMs similar to Firecracker.

• Practical experience in delivering systems using Go.

• Comprehension of network isolation at the packet level.

• Skills in performance profiling and understanding syscall costs.

• More than 8 years of experience in building backend or infrastructure systems.

• Experience working alongside product, design, and business teams to deliver software utilized by actual users.
