Engineering Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assume full responsibility for new technical tasks and projects from start to finish, including investigation, option definition, and execution.

• Take charge of development work that originates from other departments while collaborating with the Technology Product Manager.

• Create new tools and features for grassroots users utilizing both existing and innovative internal back-end systems.

• Support the CTO in researching and determining options for technology acquisitions, optimizing resource allocation, and reconfiguring the tech stack.

• Collaborate directly with external software developers and participate in internal development initiatives involving staff and volunteers.

• Provide supplementary assistance to the Technology department, particularly in IT administration and user support.

• Support the Technical Services Manager as workload permits.

• Carry out additional related tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven track record of engaging with unfamiliar technology, mastering it, and applying it effectively.

• Extensive experience with software development environments and methodologies.

• Demonstrated ability to write well-structured code and troubleshoot existing code.

• Experience in AI-assisted software development.

• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.

• Willingness to prioritize emerging departmental needs over primary tasks when necessary.

• Preferred: experience in web, mobile app, and progressive web app development.

• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails, WordPress, GitLab, Salesforce, Google Workspace, Google Cloud, and VCenter is advantageous but not mandatory.
