This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
• Take ownership of the quality and consistency of Poolside's design across various areas including product, marketing, brand, and system interfaces.
• Develop and enhance our design system; this includes not only a component library but also a design pipeline that scales alongside the company.
• Create reusable, production-ready frontend code: components and systems that enable others to build upon, rather than just standalone pages.
• Collaborate with Design Engineers on external-facing platforms, ensuring that the brand and marketing uphold the same standards as the product.
• Work together with Product Engineering to implement design system initiatives into production and maintain them as the product evolves.
• Maintain a high visual standard across the team. Your taste and judgment should elevate the quality of everything around you.
• Strong visual craftsmanship; high quality, typographic sensitivity, and meticulous attention to detail in both product and brand contexts. Your work is as aesthetically pleasing as it is functional.
• Experience in designing across the entire experience of a company: product, marketing, design systems, and brand. You are not limited to one specialty.
• Proficient in creating reusable, clean frontend code. Focus on components and systems rather than isolated pages.
• A solid background in coding: scripts, tools, and personal projects that you have developed from the ground up. You can provide concrete examples of what you built and why.
• Familiarity with developer workflows; version control, local environments, command line usage, and deployment pipelines. This is not just a curiosity for you, but your natural environment.
• Extensive experience designing specifically for developer tools, rather than general consumer or enterprise products.
• Proven experience in building design systems, not merely maintaining them, but also defining the pipeline and encouraging adoption among others.
• A systems thinker: you understand how decisions on one surface impact others and design accordingly.
• Fully remote work & flexible hours
• 37 days/year of vacation & holidays
• Health insurance allowance for you & dependents
• 16 weeks of flexible, full-pay parental leave
• Well-being, continuous learning & home office allowances
• Company-provided equipment
• Frequent team get-togethers
• Diverse & inclusive people-first culture
