Engineering Manager – Offsite Discovery

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Product Manager and various stakeholders to establish quarterly objectives linked to measurable service and business outcomes.

• Support engineers' development by assisting them in acquiring new skills, increasing ownership, and overcoming obstacles.

• Oversee the recruitment and hiring processes for your team.

• Define and implement the engineering strategy for the team.

• Create metrics, dashboards, and alert systems that ensure transparency in operational health and delivery success.

• Continuously enhance the team's operational excellence through improvements in the tech stack, processes, and tools.

• Drive quantifiable advancements in product capabilities, costs, and performance.

• Work alongside adjacent engineering and non-engineering teams to establish and maintain clear interfaces and ownership boundaries.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of software development experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role managing engineering teams.

• Demonstrated experience in designing and operating high-load real-time systems within production settings.

• Proficient in Python and experienced with at least one major cloud platform (AWS preferred); familiarity with JavaScript is an added advantage.

• Strong grasp of system architecture and API design principles.

• Experience in hiring, mentoring, and nurturing engineers within rapidly growing teams.

• Capable of setting technical direction and translating product objectives into clear engineering milestones.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Availability for regular meetings between 11 am – 5 pm UTC.
