Engineering Manager, Machine Learning

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Empower our Machine Learning and data teams to function as highly efficient, cross-functional units that deliver top-notch ML-driven capabilities.

• Assist teams utilizing satellite imagery and geospatial datasets, while balancing experimentation, iteration, and continuous enhancement of current solutions.

• Expand the teams by attracting and recruiting exceptional Data and ML talent.

• Cultivate an inclusive, supportive, and nurturing environment where everyone can perform at their best.

• Deliver regular one-on-one coaching and feedback to support others in thriving, growing, and achieving their goals.

• Serve as a strategic ally to Product Managers within your areas, ensuring that technical decisions align with both short-term and long-term objectives.

• Guarantee that the technical strategies within your domains address future product and modeling requirements.

• Collaborate closely with other Product, Design, and Engineering leaders on strategy, technology, and personnel matters.

• Assist in evolving Data and ML practices and implementing working methods that enhance collaboration, delivery, and learning.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of professional experience in developing ML- or data-driven systems, with a minimum of 3 years in leadership roles managing ML or data-focused teams.

• A strong passion for climate issues and an understanding of how technology can help tackle environmental challenges.

• Experience in a dynamic, high-growth scale-up or startup environment.

• Product-oriented mindset, with the capability to demonstrate significant business impact through technology.

• Adequate technical expertise in machine learning, data systems, or applied ML to guide teams and critically evaluate decisions.

• Familiarity with python-based ML or data workflows and close collaboration with data scientists.

• Strong leadership qualities, possessing a coaching mindset and the ability to support engineers and data scientists at various levels.

• Outstanding communication skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

• A commitment to learning and staying updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.
