Engineering Manager – Logistics Data Products

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the creation and maintenance of authoritative Army logistics data products.

• Provide leadership and direct oversight to a team of data engineers and data scientists.

• Stay actively involved with data architecture, pipeline creation, ontology, code evaluation, and troubleshooting.

• Set engineering standards concerning quality, lineage, testing, source control, deployment, monitoring, and documentation.

• Convert logistics requirements from government stakeholders into technical priorities and actionable capabilities.

• Ensure data products are dependable, traceable, secure, and appropriate for operational application.

• Foster the development of engineers through technical guidance, mentoring, feedback, and performance management.

• Offer reliable data foundations for subsequent analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine-learning applications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, data science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• A minimum of ten years' experience in data engineering, software engineering, data architecture, or enterprise data delivery.

• Proven experience in managing or directly supervising technical professionals.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and contemporary data-engineering practices.

• Experience in constructing production data pipelines and data products using Palantir Foundry, Army Vantage, or a similar enterprise data platform.

• Familiarity with data modeling, ontology development, data integration, and data-quality management.

• Strong foundation in software engineering principles, including testing, source control, CI/CD, and production monitoring.

• Experience serving a Department of Defense customer.

• Excellent customer-facing and executive communication skills.

• Active Secret clearance is mandatory.

• Applicants must fulfill eligibility criteria for a U.S. Government security clearance.
