Engineering Manager – Infrastructure, DevOps

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Lead and oversee a team of DevOps and Systems Engineers.

• Manage Tech/Team Leads with a team size of 4 to 6 reports.

• Recruit, onboard, develop, and retain engineering talent.

• Conduct performance evaluations and facilitate career advancement.

• Foster a robust engineering culture characterized by high ownership.

• Take responsibility for and prioritize the infrastructure backlog and roadmap.

• Ensure the timely and high-quality execution of infrastructure projects.

• Enhance engineering and operational processes such as CI/CD, release flow, and change management.

• Collaborate effectively with product and engineering teams.

• Manage team capacity and distribute workloads efficiently.

• Contribute to architectural decisions and ensure top-notch implementation.

• Drive the evolution of infrastructure with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.

• Advocate for best practices, including Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, and observability.

• Maintain a high technical standard across the team.

• Mentor and develop Tech Leads and Senior Engineers.

• Oversee incident management processes and conduct postmortems.

• Enhance monitoring, alerting, and observability practices.

• Optimize infrastructure costs while ensuring effective resource utilization.


⛳️ Requirements

• Management Experience: Proven experience in leading engineering teams through Tech/Team Leads (4 to 6 reports).

• Demonstrated capability in hiring, evaluating, and developing engineers.

• Strong skills in stakeholder management and prioritization.

• Experience in driving project delivery and execution.

• Technical expertise in DevOps and Infrastructure Engineering.

• More than 5 years of experience in infrastructure teams, including at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.

• Solid comprehension of distributed and high-load systems.

• Practical experience with Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform or similar).

• Understanding of observability and incident management practices.

• Experience with AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, etc.).

• Active application of AI in engineering and management workflows, focusing on automation, analysis, and productivity enhancement.

• Proficiency in English at a B1 level or higher.
