• Recruit, manage, and mentor a diverse team of engineers specializing in Identity and Trust & Safety, promoting a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Provide hands-on mentorship, guidance, and decision-making support to enable engineering teams to deliver effective, high-quality solutions.
• Own and lead the execution of critical initiatives, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes while fostering incremental delivery and impact.
• Define and evolve our Identity and Access Management capabilities to meet future demands, while shaping the Trust & Safety roadmap in accordance with company priorities and emerging threats.
• Design and implement scalable systems to detect, prevent, and respond to fraud and abuse, utilizing key metrics to assess effectiveness.
• Collaborate with Product, Security, Design, Engineering, Legal, and Compliance teams to integrate security and safety considerations throughout the development lifecycle.
• Shape the technical strategy and North Star Architecture while guiding the design and implementation of essential services and components.
• 5+ years of experience as a people leader within a platform engineering organization.
• Domain expertise in customer-facing Identity & Access Management (IAM) and/or Trust & Safety.
• Strong technical acumen with an in-depth understanding of designing detection and prevention systems, as well as a practical grasp of applying machine learning and AI to Trust & Safety and/or security challenges.
• Profound understanding of distributed systems and cloud computing.
• Experience in building, operating, and maintaining high-traffic, high-availability platforms and systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex systems to identify root causes and implement effective mitigations and resolutions.
• Proven ability to drive innovation and propose new solutions or enhancements that align with organizational objectives.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in mentoring and guiding engineering teams.
• Capacity to adapt to new technologies, shifting requirements, and evolving organizational needs.
• Availability for participation in on-call rotation, ensuring prompt and effective responses to critical business alerts outside of regular working hours.
