Engineering Manager – Gaming

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Slovakia.

📋 Description

• Lead and motivate a high-performing team, nurturing a positive and collaborative culture while driving ongoing improvement initiatives.

• Serve as the technical foundation, guiding architectural and engineering decisions while mentoring and supporting your team.

• Create community-driven products that tackle complex challenges, delivering features that enhance user engagement and retention.

• Propel delivery in a product-focused environment by facilitating effective agile ceremonies, managing expectations, and transforming ambiguity into actionable outcomes.

• Collaborate proactively with stakeholders, working across various teams—including product management, content, design, SEO, and delivery—to ensure alignment and effective communication.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as an Engineering Manager (or a highly experienced engineer with significant leadership responsibilities) in a product setting. Experience in developing “community platform” style products is an advantage.

• Strong practical expertise with modern technologies—preferably React, Next.js, and Node.js for backend development. Familiarity with TypeScript, PHP, and CMS platforms like Contentful is a plus.

• Capability to dive into the code and make changes confidently while leading technical direction—this role demands a balance between managerial focus and technical skills to fully support the team.

• Excellent communicator with a proven history of successful collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.

• Comprehensive understanding of best engineering practices, including testing, pair programming, documentation, and code reviews.
