Engineering Manager, Full Stack, Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

• Act as a strategic partner to product managers, machine learning engineers, and other stakeholders within your areas, ensuring that we make informed data architecture and platform decisions that align with both short and long-term objectives.

• Guarantee the appropriateness of the data architecture, pipelines, and data models within your domains to support long-term goals in product development, analytics, and machine learning.

• Collaborate closely with other Product & Engineering leaders on strategy, technology, and personnel, including enhancing our data engineering practices and introducing capabilities that improve data access, reliability, and unlock new product and data-driven opportunities.

• Experience in a high-growth scale-up environment.

• A strong passion for climate-related issues.

• Product-oriented mindset with a proven track record of making a significant impact on a business through the implementation of data platforms and data-driven systems.

• Over 2 years of experience in leading and managing full-stack or data engineers across multiple teams.

• Familiarity with the following (or similar) technologies: React/Typescript, Python/FastAPI, PostgresDB, data pipelines, SQL, data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Dagster), and data warehouses/lakehouses.

• Capability to remove obstacles for your team by contributing at a senior engineering level (e.g., reviewing data models, debugging pipelines, guiding architecture). The degree of hands-on involvement in this role will vary based on team size and maturity.

• Comfortable operating in a build-it, run-it environment (GCP, Cloud Run, Grafana, K8s) or similar, with an understanding of data reliability, observability, and pipeline operations.

• Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to mentor and coach engineers at all levels.

• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team environment.

• A zeal for learning and staying informed about evolving technologies and industry trends, especially at the intersection of agentic coding, engineering, and data infrastructure.
