This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead, mentor, and guide a team of engineers, fostering their technical and professional growth.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and cross-functional stakeholders to define roadmap priorities and product vision.
• Drive the development of scalable and reliable systems that enhance the member experience.
• Work alongside Lead and Staff Engineers on architectural decisions, engineering standards, and the careful prioritization of technical debt.
• Assist the team in balancing immediate execution with the long-term health of the platform.
• Provide clarity on priorities, trade-offs, and business context, ensuring the team comprehends both the “what” and the “why.”
• Eliminate technical and operational hurdles that hinder team progress.
• Engage in technical discussions and code reviews as necessary, maintaining a solid understanding of the systems managed by your team.
• Collaborate closely with fellow Engineering Managers to synchronize launches, experiments, and shared platform initiatives.
• Utilize data and operational metrics to inform decision-making regarding product performance, reliability, and engineering effectiveness.
• Over 6 years of experience in software development.
• At least 1.5 years of experience in engineering management.
• Proven experience in building highly available, scalable, and low-latency systems.
• Strong technical judgment and capability to steer architectural discussions across large-scale projects.
• Experience in hiring and developing inclusive, high-performing engineering teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in navigating both technical and business discussions with clarity and context.
• Experience in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Bonus Points: Familiarity with fintech, mobile development, and technology stack including Typescript / Node.js, MySQL, Google Cloud Platform, React Native / React, GraphQL, Docker / Kubernetes.
