Engineering Manager, Data Foundations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Lead and guide a team of over 5 data engineers across various regions.

• Remain actively involved — evaluate architecture and code, create prototypes for solutions.

• Spearhead the architecture for data ingestion, Snowflake, and Airflow; take charge of the strategy for data quality tools and monitoring.

• Manage the operational aspects of the platform — including monitoring, alerting, incident response, and on-call duties.

• Promote best practices in data governance and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve the roadmap.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in data or software engineering.

• At least 2 years of experience managing engineering teams of 5 or more individuals.

• Proven track record in building and leading engineering teams across different regions and time zones.

• Hands-on experience with Cloud Providers, Kubernetes, Kafka, Snowflake, Iceberg/Delta/Hudi, Airflow, and Python.

• A solid understanding of the trade-offs involved in distributed systems.

• Experience in architecting solutions for data ingestion, quality, and cost optimization at scale.

• Direct, empathetic, and results-oriented communication abilities.
