Engineering Manager – Crypto & Payments

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Vietnam.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete engineering delivery process, including wallet, payments, custody integration, KYC, ledger and account management, along with the overarching product layer that connects them.

• Assemble the founding engineering team; starting with a compact group and scaling rapidly. Set high standards for hiring and cultivate the team's culture, rituals, and benchmarks from the outset.

• Create and establish our integration framework for infrastructure partners.

• Make decisions on build-vs-buy strategies. Collaborate with our architecture and product teams to determine our method for integrating top-tier partners, building the product layer, and utilizing the existing GoTymeX platform for support. You will be responsible for that directive and defend it.

• Develop and manage an AI-native engineering practice using modern tools as the standard, ensuring continuous delivery, feature-flagged rollouts, and synthetic users in production environments.

• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Compliance, Legal, and the existing engineering teams from GoTyme Bank and TymeBank to create a cohesive, regulated offering across various jurisdictions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of engineering experience, including at least 4 years in a leadership position within a digital bank, modern payments company, crypto exchange, regulated fintech, or embedded finance platform.

• Experience in financial services and cryptocurrency. You have successfully launched regulated products as well as on-chain products.

• Demonstrated full-stack engineering expertise across contemporary frontend frameworks and backend technologies, with the capability to influence and guide architectural decisions throughout the entire stack.

• Leadership in multi-vendor orchestration, including an API-first approach and managing scale covering roadmaps, SLAs, and support during commercial negotiations.

• Proven track record in hiring and developing remote and hybrid engineering teams across multiple time zones.

• Familiarity with operating within regulated fintech environments across various jurisdictions; comfortable engaging with compliance, risk, and regulatory bodies (e.g., MiCA, CASP, VARA, MAS DPT, and their equivalents).

• An AI-native operational mindset. You regularly utilize AI tools, have experience shipping projects with them, and possess insights on how they influence team structure and delivery rhythm.

• A 'build like a founder' mentality; experience in start-ups or scale-ups, hands-on involvement with the product, comfort with ambiguity, and a strong inclination to deliver outcomes.
