Engineering Manager, Cloud Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the architecture, performance, and scalability of our Node.js-based platform predominantly hosted on AWS.

• Ensure that architectural choices maintain portability across GCP, Azure, and other cloud service providers.

• Take ownership of the platform's technical direction and provide mentorship to senior engineers.

• Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to deliver high-quality systems efficiently.

• Manage a team of 10–15 developers by setting objectives, conducting 1:1 meetings, fostering career growth, hiring, and addressing obstacles.

• Balance the delivery of the roadmap with the health of engineering, including code quality, system reliability, on-call practices, and developer experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role within engineering teams.

• Extensive expertise in architecting distributed systems on AWS (compute, networking, data, IAM, observability).

• Strong background in Node.js and a well-defined perspective on creating maintainable services at scale.

• Experience in designing platform-agnostic systems capable of operating on any major hyperscaler.

• Proven history of enhancing performance, scalability, and deployment speed in production settings.

• Demonstrated ability to develop engineers, make effective hires, and lead a team that consistently delivers.

• **Nice to have**

• Experience with multi-cloud or cloud-portable deployments (Kubernetes, Terraform, containerization).

• Background in scaling SaaS platforms or products aimed at developers.

• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer).
