Engineering Manager, Cloud Platform

📋 Description

• Lead the design, performance optimization, and scalability of our Node.js-based platform predominantly hosted on AWS.

• Ensure that architectural choices maintain compatibility across GCP, Azure, and other cloud service providers.

• Take ownership of the platform's technical direction, mentor senior engineers, and collaborate with product and engineering leadership.

• Oversee a team of 10–15 developers — establishing goals, conducting one-on-one meetings, fostering career growth, recruiting, and removing obstacles.

• Balance the delivery of the roadmap with engineering well-being: code quality, system reliability, on-call practices, and developer experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in leadership roles within engineering teams.

• In-depth expertise in architecting distributed systems on AWS (compute, networking, data, IAM, observability).

• Strong background in Node.js and a well-defined perspective on constructing maintainable services at scale.

• Experience in designing platform-agnostic systems capable of operating on any major hyperscaler.

• Proven track record of enhancing performance, scalability, and deployment speed in live environments.

• Demonstrated ability to develop engineers, hire effectively, and manage a team that consistently delivers.

• Experience with multi-cloud or cloud-portable deployments (Kubernetes, Terraform, containerization).

• Background in scaling SaaS platforms or products aimed at developers.

• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer).
